Kangana Ranaut on her next directorial venture Aparajita Ayodhya & how she plans to trace the temple’s 600 year journey

Kangana Ranaut in a recent interview on the occasion of Ram Mandir bhumi pujan, spoke about the mega event and how her next directorial venture Aparajita Ayodhya will capture the entire six century old journey of the Ram Mandir.
It’s a big day for Indians as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Ayodhya for the Ram Mandir foundation stone laying ceremony. While it’s been a battle fought over several decades, this has brought in a sense of joy among the country and countrymen. The PM, while addressing the countrymen, said, “The temple should be constructed on the foundation of mutual love and brotherhood.”
Now, Kangana Ranaut has also opened up on the historic moment that will truly go down as one of the memorable incidents in India’s history.
When asked Kangana on how she feels, the Queen actress, replies in pride. “The Ram Mandir isn’t just a temple, but an emotion. “For me, Ayodhya is very symbolic and this journey of the last 500-600 years that we have had as a civilization is very exciting for me. I want to not waste the limited time we all have and I’d rather do things that cause a shift in the way we live, we think. From whatever study I’ve done in the old times, our society was sophisticated and one of the greatest in the world. I see that we, as people, had a certain structure in the society that we followed. But with rapid invasions, we have not only lost our wealth, but we have also lost that blueprint which our Indian greats left for us. They had established a moral and ethnic code for our civilization,” she shares.
Kangana further explains that now is the correct moment to introspect and act upon things that need to change within the society. “I personally feel that this is the time for us to delve and go beyond our ‘roti, kapda, makaan’ needs, and see what we lack as a society and how we can revive that. For me, a temple isn’t about pillars, bricks or just a structure. It’s a symbol of something that our civilization considered the highest. Ram is not a God, he’s Purushottam – an elevated man. He’s no more but his qualities continue to live. The temple is a symbol of those qualities. He established Ram Rajya which to a great extent was followed by Mahatma Gandhi and that’s how he got us freedom, so his consciousness prevailed through so many great beings and continued to save us and affect our lives.”
The superstar heroine is all set to make a film on the temple’s 600 year old journey, that she will be directing. After Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, writer KV Vijayendra Prasad will reunite with Kangana for Aparajita Ayodhya. “This temple has been a struggle of 600 years even when it was invaded by Babur and demolished. After that, 72 battles were fought and even during First Mutiny, the British used the temple (in the 19th century) when it was divided into Hindus and Muslims. Because Hindus and Muslims were fighting for independence and this was an attempt to divide them,” she explains
Kangana further adds that today’s iconic moment will also be a huge episode in her directorial venture. “In my film, there are several real Muslim characters who have fought in favour of the Ram temple. So it’s a story of devotion, faith and above all, unity in the country. Ram Rajya is beyond a religion and that’s what Aparajita Ayodhya will be about. It’s a very tough screenplay as it travels across 600 years and the Ram Mandir bhumi pujan will very much be a part of my film. Vijayendra sir has put it together in a beautiful way. It could have been a logo launch for us today because it was a perfect day. Nevertheless, we have high hopes that we will be able to go on floors very soon. I can’t wait to narrate the film to my actors,”
Kangana Ranaut is ably balancing her time between acting, direction and production. Aparajita Ayodhya will be launched under her banner Manikarnika Films announced earlier this year.

Asha Bhosle beats nepotism and embraces young talents from across the globe offering them her social media platform to showcase the best of talent.
Her smile makes the world go wow! The youthful effervescence of her voice is mind-blowing and her enthusiasm is contagious. She is 87 years young and has a career spanning over seven decades with over 1000 Hindi films, several private albums, and is a Guinness Book world record holder as the most recorded artiste in music history. Padma Vibhushan Asha Bhosle also has an amazing repertoire of versatility ranging from Hindi film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis and Rabindra Sangeet in over 20 Indian and foreign languages.
Yet, Asha Bhosle is an icon who keeps reinventing herself. After launching her YouTube channel recently, Asha Bhosle is now coming out with her show titled ‘Asha Ki Asha’. The show seems to be the singer’s musical tribute to the world that gave her the adoration and adulation that she very much deserves. And in this age and era of nepotism and musical shows that thrive on drama more than talent, ‘Asha Ki Asha’ promises to be a show to unearth real talent. “My only interest is in the singers’ musical talent. It is not a show that will highlight his/her life.”
Asha Bhosle has always loved to see talented youngsters get their due. “I’ve always referred young talents to composers, but it is not always that they achieved their dreams.” But lockdown brought with it the big idea. “One day, when I saw my granddaughter singing online with friends and having a blast, it struck me that I could unearth real talent through my YouTube and social media. Hence, I invite aspiring singers to send me two-minute musical videos so that I can review and give a platform to the best.”
Asha Bhosle is very clear that musical talent is all that she seeks. “I am looking for unique voices. The right pitch and rhythm sense are a must. Looks, dancing talent, age, gender, nationality – nothing matters. But those under 18 need parental consent.” Also, what’s more is that the chosen one will be blessed by Asha Bhosle with 1 lac rupees.
Asha Bhosle is humility personified. She suggests that the song be recorded in a place with minimum external sound interference before he/she uploads it on www.ashabhosle.com. The song has to be either in English or Hindi, and the best talent will receive a certificate signed by the ageless diva herself.
Considering that Asha Bhosle faced the mic as a 10-year-old, she is looking forward to guiding many talented youngsters to walk the same path that she did and let the world hear their voice. “The set was very hot and I was singing for the first time, and to add to that, I was acting as well. The temperature and the bright reflectors were so disturbing and exhausting that I fainted.” Asha Bhosle got up and finished the song. Today, she has one advise for youngsters before they pick up the mic to sing for Asha Ki Asha. “This is not a look test. Focus on the song, the pitch, the rhythm and the voice. Sing from your heart. Trust me, the future is yours!”

Dinesh Sudarshan Soi – is one of the finest personalities in the entertainment industry at present who has come a very long way, from working as a Casting Director since 2002 to winning Mr. India North 2007 title and making a way to Mumbai. Dinesh portrayed the role of ‘Jugnu’ in Star Plus popular show Mann ki Awaaz Pratigya. He is now the busiest Casting Director of Bollywood and recently also adapted to the big screen as a Director for numerous successful music videos. Super hit music videos Tum Kaho Toh & Jatti were also directed by him. In this brief exclusive interview with Dinesh Sudarshan Soi, you will get to know about his transition journey and how he created his marquee in this competitive industry.
How did you get into the Casting industry?
Oddly, it was never my sole ambition or goal; I can say it was the power of serendipity and my personal branding and connection that got me curious about untapped casting heroes. Initially, I got in touch with the casting process to gain more knowledge about how the entertainment industry works and to network and build lasting relationships. Honestly, I never imagined that I will come this far in this particular casting domain.
Can your briefly breakdown your transition journey from Acting to Casting and Casting to Direction?
My transition journey was seamless! The idea of getting into the entertainment Industry always intrigued me. My journey started from Mohali, from college itself I got involved in acting and community theatre, I was also doing modelling at that time. Good people skills and my creativity was my plus point from an early age. I was also aware that show business is all about connections, so initially, my vision for joining casting was merely to understand the industry and connect with like-minded people. I decided to seriously explore Casting as a field when I shifted to Mumbai and started getting noticed because of my casting work. The recognition I got as a Casting Director was heart-warming. Under my Casting firm DS Creations I did multiple successful projects. I got my name in India Book & Asia Book Of Records for maximum Castings. I got Dada Saheb Phalke Icon Award Films for Best Casting Director along with other acknowledgements in a span of 18 years. Talking about my acting journey, I had started as a television artist and also was part of blockbuster serial Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya.
It was Acting that landed me to different segments of the industry and I discovered that Casting was something which was in my blood and I loved doing this job and decided to take it forward as a full-time profession. Eventually, I made the initiative to take my creativity to another level by stepping into direction as a Music Video Director. I debuted as a director by directing a romantic music video titled ‘Tum Kaho Toh’. It was perhaps the most dazzling transition to me. I got tremendous appreciation in Direction as well and just when I had started as a Director I got Best Debutant Director Award at 6th Darshnik Press Media Awards 2019.
What does it feel like to be a father to a baby girl?
I’m instantly going to say -I feel immensely happy and proud. I don’t think you can really understand something like this until you experience it. The best moment in my life, I am still speechless and couldn’t express my feelings in words. I just want to make my baby girl ”Maesha Soi” proud and be the best dad possible.
We are excited to know about your Upcoming Projects, please share with us if you can! I will be unveiling more Music videos and also will be directing a refreshing web series, in addition to that, planning to kick – start with two exciting movies, will reveal everything in detail quite soon.
